Boat and beach in sunset during shoulder season at Pacific Playgrounds Vancouver Island Resort

Fall Equals Fun at Vancouver Island Resort

Pacific Playgrounds is a great shoulder-season destination for seniors and couples

Summer is over, and that means it’s time for the adults to get away and play. Pacific Playgrounds Oceanside Resort is one of Vancouver Island’s top destinations for Fall fun. Located in the Comox Valley near Campbell River, B.C., our beautifully landscaped RV and cottage resort is Ground Zero for nature- and culture-inspired getaways. Many couples book early and stay for several weeks to enjoy all the area has to offer.

Nature Abounds on Vancouver Island

September to November, the air temperature on Vancouver Island typically sits between 19C and 6C, which is absolutely perfect for outdoor adventuring. Pacific Playgrounds sits right on the Pacific Ocean, nestled into an old-growth forest, and is near dozens of top nature destinations such as Mount Washington, sanctuaries and ocean reserves.

Hike, mountain bike, bird watch, catch the Orca migration in November, or simply watch the coast come alive as the water and waves change patterns with the coming season. Golf, land-lubbing nature tours, and sightseeing mountain chair-lifts often run mid- to late-October. Our Stay-in-place RV trailers or our cosy two-bedroom cottages make excellent home bases for these days of adventure.

Comox Valley is also chock full of fine dining, inviting organic farms to visit, and wineries and distilleries to tour. There’s a table to reserve around every corner, and we encourage you to take a look at all the many options that are on offer. Many of our guests split their days in two: adventure in the morning and fine dining in the evenings. There’s no wrong way to plan your getaway, and with so many options available, every day can be different from the last.

We can’t wait to host you and hear about your adventures under the stars on our adults-only resort patio. Book accommodations for a couple nights or a couple months—beautiful British Columbia is waiting.
