Coastal Black Estate Winery is located here in Black Creek, on a four-generation family farm near the base of Mount Washington. The estate produces fruit wines, mead, cider, honey, and seasonal farm products, offering a distinctly local introduction to the agricultural side of the area.

This is not an imported version of wine country. It is shaped by the land, fruit, farms, and families of northern Vancouver Island.

Depending on the season and current tasting-room schedule, a visit may include a flight, a glass of wine or cider, and time to browse products made at the farm. Because fall hours and experiences can change, check directly with the winery before setting out.

Nearby Shelter Point Distillery offers another kind of local tasting experience. Located south of Campbell River, the distillery produces whisky and other spirits on a coastal farm beside the Oyster River.
