Swim in the outdoor heated pool, play softball or baseball at the diamond, visit the playgrounds, join a game of volleyball, basketball, bocci or play horseshoe in the pits, play doubles at the tennis court, go river or ocean fishing, take time for birding, arrange boat or fishing charters . . . and that is just what we offer on park grounds.

Oyster River Plaza

Just a few minutes walk from Pacific Playgrounds, Oyster River Plaza has a number of stores and services to make your stay with us more enjoyable. Featuring local produce, Discovery Foods, a local supermarket chain can handle all your grocery shopping needs. 'The Oyster River Liquor Store' and 'The Forbidden Zone Pizza & Specialty Coffee Bar' can meet those other camping 'must haves'. Should you need it, 'The Bridge Medical Clinic' walk-in clinic is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Fishermen's Lodge Pub

A short jaunt from Pacific Playgrounds on a spectacular nature trail, and over the quaint Oyster River one-lane timber "through" truss bridge you will find Fishermen's Lodge, an older pub featuring some of the best Chinese food on northern Vancouver Island. Situated on the banks of the Oyster River, it is a great place to relax over a cold beer.
